The crew involved in the operation of an aircraft must coordinate their efforts and rely on the effective use of many resources to ensure the safe operation of a flight. Most resources have limitations which may render the resource ineffective in certain situations or environments.

Crew Resource Management (CRM) training focuses on the effective use of all resources to allow an individual, whether operating alone or in a multi-crew environment, to achieve the highest possible level of safety and efficiency.

Air Medical Resource Management (AMRM) has become one of our specialty areas outside of the traditional pilot CRM. It is a course specially tailored for all crews involved within the Air Medical profession. Not only do we look intrinsically at the job of the flight crew, maintenance engineer, dispatcher and air medical crew, we also explore the dynamics created as two complex industries (aviation and medicine) are brought together. This course is essential for anyone working as a crewmember in the air ambulance profession.

Controlled Flight into Terrain or CFIT as it is often referred to, continues to be a leading cause of accidents around the world. CFIT is defined as any accident where an airworthy aircraft, under the control of a pilot (or flight crew) is unintentionally flown into the ground, water or obstacle. These accidents occur at all levels of aviation, including general aviation under Visual Flight Rules right up to and including the commercial sector with highly trained and experienced professional flight crews.

Our IFR course takes a look at some of the important topics involved in instrument flight. The material also works well as a refresher for pilots looking to review.

The topics covered include the following: Instrument Charts, IFR Approaches, Holding, Take-Off Minimums, Alternates, Minimum IFR Altitudes and Approach Ban.
